NRS Function |
| Tier 1 |
The Tier 1 instance of NRS is responsible for distributing queries to the indexes residing on Tier 2 and aggregating the results. The Tier 1 server also handles all web page requests,
user accounts, alerts, and crawling/indexing/merging of user listings.
RECOMMENDED HARDWARE: 4GB RAM, 1TB HD, 128GB SSD

| Tier 2 |
Tier 2 servers typically hold 10 indexes, one on each solid state drive (SSD).
Tier 2 servers only respond to search requests from Tier 1.
RECOMMENDED HARDWARE: 4GB RAM, 10x 128GB SSD

| Tier 3 |
Tier 3 servers typically hold 20 indexes. Indexes are spidered in turn. Every couple of
weeks indexes are reindexed and pushed to Tier 2.
RECOMMENDED HARDWARE: 8GB RAM, 4 x 1TB HD
